OUR NAME

Coined and suggestive, our name T’MARO telegraphs the idea of a spirit for tomorrow. Tomorrow is undefined. A Cliffhanger. Full of Excitement and endless potential. Not in the past. Not the far-off future. T’MARO is somehow timeless.

We know our world is warming. We know the way we live is always evolving. Our planet has persisted through the tides and tempests of every era. We can learn from what survives. The date palms stand like sentinels through the storms.

A tree that lives up to its name, the Phoenix Dactylifera. Rising through the fires and the heat to bear fruits that hold the water of life, the sweetness of tomorrow.

OUR STORY

Chef Elizabeth Falkner and beverage alcohol industry veteran, Heather Freyer met in 2022 and set off on a journey. Both are concerned with climate change and the effects on agriculture. They are both from Southern California and wanted to showcase the date fruit naturally caramelized by the sun.

They wanted to make their Amaro using all-natural ingredients without added sugar, colors or flavors. During the innovation process they decided to use dates as the natural sweetener, a product Chef Elizabeth frequently loves to use in her cooking. While learning more about dates and the resilience of the date tree, they discovered a way to make date spirit. The Eau de Vie (date-spirit) was so delicious they decided to bottle it and share it with the world.

We focused on the spirits inside the bottle, and we also focused on sustainability of the package on the outside. We make labels from up cycled palm fronds and pure cork and every detail of the carbon footprint of our production.

The dates inspire us. To innovate out of optimism.

To create a brand for today’s enjoyment and tomorrow’s world.
